Orphanage for the Disabled

Last month we checked with the Orphanage for the Disabled to see if they needed more craft supplies. That is something that has been donated the past few years thanks to Wendy Lawhon of Besem Natural Scents . We were happy to hear from the orphanage that they were now receiving more local support. There had been a local fundraiser recently and monies from that had purchased craft supplies and a DVD player. They told us they now needed some DVD's.

Several children's DVD's were purchased and delivered to the Orphanage for the Disabled. Some of the older children there kindly agreed to pose for a picture holding the DVD's. These DVD's will be enjoyed by many of the children there. Some children there are bedridden and their world is very limited due to their circumstances. We hope the videos will bring smiles to their faces and brighten their days.

Though all of the children there could use some encouragement, individual gifts were sent to two children there. We were told that this girl (bottom right photo), could really use the encouragement of a sponsor. If anyone is interested in sponsoring her, please contact us antares.foundation@yahoo.com . A former groupmate of this boy (bottome left photo) sent something to him to let him know that he has not been forgotten.

Thank you Wendy and Besem Natural Scents for providing the funds for the DVDs and the gift for this special young lady.

Antares Jewelry

To help raise funds for Antares projects, such as Siblings Reunions, Student of the Month, Scholarships, the Medical Project, and to meet other needs as they come up, WINGS was contacted to design some unique pieces of jewelry specifically for the Antares Foundation.
They did a wonderful job. These are beautiful!

The holidays are coming up soon. These would make wonderful gifts and the proceeds would go toward helping the orphans in the North Kazakhstan Region.

Shipping and handling (within the US) is $3.00.

Please e-mail antares.foundation@yahoo.com to place your orders.
Order soon to make sure you receive your orders in time for the holidays.

Packages and a Party

On Friday, some packages for sponsored children at the Regional Boarding School Orphanage were delivered.

Susan S. sent warm clothing, shoes, and a letter to these two brothers that she sponsors. They were very happy to hear from Susan's family and thankful for the items that were sent.

Thank you, Susan!

Catherine N. sent a Halloween "party in a box",
full of sweets and treats for her sponsored child's group.
She paid to have our KZ helper add some juice and fruits too.

The "wax lips" she included in her package were a big hit!

Thank you Susan Sturrock and Catherine Nielsen!
