5 YEARS!!!!!

Antares Foundation was originally incorporated 5 years ago this month!

Thanks to Antares Sponsors and Donors:

Some orphans have received scholarships and stipends to help with their education and living expenses after graduating from the RBS

Several children have been encouraged to study by the Student of the Month contest

Several children have personal sponsors

Many, many children at Poludino have celebrated their birthday….some for the very first time!

Several siblings have been reunited!

Medical supplies and equipment have been donated

Medical needs have been provided (eye glasses, insulin, medicines, medical treatment, etc..)

Dental needs have been provided (teeth have been repaired)

Many children (sponsored and unsponsored) have received packages and gone on outings

Washing machines, curtains, lights, and other items have been purchased and donated (RBS)

Indoor play equipment has been donated (Poludino and Orphanage for the Disabled)

School supplies and fruit have been donated (RBS and Sokolovka)

Sports equipment has been donated (Sokolovka and Shoptykol)

...and MORE!!!!!!

Thank you all for making a difference in the lives of these children!
It makes us smile to think of the many faces associated with the list above!

Donations have been down due to the economy…and we do understand!
We will just continue to do whatever we are able to do with what there is….as long as it is possible.

In the meantime, we are ebay-ing and "yard-sale"-ing….buying and selling gift cards…..and Antares jewelry…..Need any for Mother’s Day or graduation gifts????? Let us know!

Celebrating 2 Years of SIBLINGS REUNIONS!

Here is a slideshow of siblings that have benefitted from the Siblings Reunion Program. Some of them no longer need to participate in the program, because now the live in the same orphanage, and a few have even been adopted. However, many still look forward to, and live for that next Siblings Reunion...when they can be together again! (We try to arrange monthly reunions, and are able to do so thanks to people who donate to the Siblings Reunion Program.)

SIBLINGS DAY!

Did you know April 10th is Siblings Day????!!!! There is a foundation, Siblings Day Foundation, that is promoting "Siblings Day." http://www.siblingsday.org/ is their website.


One of Antares Foundations sweetest programs is the Siblings Reunion Program! Through no fault of their own, many orphans are separated from the ones closest to them, their siblings. Sometimes it is due to age. Or it may be due to behavior. Sometimes it is simply due to the fact of where there is an available bed.


Two years ago this month, was the very first Antares sponsored Siblings Reunion. Money was donated to pay for gas and expenses involved in taking older siblings from the Regional Boarding School Orphanage in Petropavlovsk to the preschool orphanage in Poludino. This year we have expanded our program, reuniting siblings at Sokolovka with their RBS siblings, and including siblings from the Children's Village in the RBS/Poludino reunions.


In honor of "Siblings Day" we would like to promote our Siblings Reunion program and raise funds for a Siblings Reunion Outing to the Park in Petropavlovsk, so siblings could have some extra special time together. Ideally, it would have been wonderful to arrange for this event to occur on April 10th, "Siblings Day." However the temperatures are still low this time of year in Petropavlovsk and many of the park activities are closed. So we decided to go ahead and promote this plan the week of "Siblings Day" and raise funds for the event to occur when the weather is warmer, probably the end of May or in June.

If you would like to make a donation in honor of your sibling(s) let us know and we will e-mail them a Siblings Day greeting and let them know that a donation to the Siblings Reunion Program was made in their honor.
